Why I Became a Prepper and How You Can Too

Why I Became a Prepper

Hello everyone. I wanted to write this article today because I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what I did to become a prepper. Now for those of you who don’t know what a prepper is, a prepper is a person who is always prepared in case there’s a natural disaster or a government collapse that takes away all your conveniences of life. Preppers are the ones that will have what they need to survive during situations like this without the need for intervention.

First Exhibit – Look At the World Around You

Now I don’t think I need to tell you what the world is like today that necessitates the need for prepping. There are so many governments around the world that are on the brink of collapse and there’s not a day that goes by that you don’t hear about a natural disaster like a flood, earthquake, tsunami, hurricane, or nuclear disaster that will take out your power, make it impossible to drive on roads, and leave you with nothing but the clothes on your back.

Learn to Think Like A Prepper

So what are you going to do in a situation like that? There isn’t going to be anybody who will come to help you in a situation like that. So what we preppers do is we learn the skills to hunt, fish, repair our equipment, look for water, and just plain survive without anyone else’s help.

How You Can Get Started Being A Prepper

So the first thing that you need to do to become a prepper is figure out your essential needs.  Now these needs could be something you currently perform for yourself or they could be needs that you pay others to do for you.  the goal of a prepper is that during a natural disaster or a government collapse that your standard of living is minimally impacted. Figure out which needs you currently provide for yourself and which ones you pay others for. Figure out how you can learn the skills to perform those tasks without paying for others.

Find Sources to Learn Skills You Currently Don’t Have

There are many resources to learn these skills. The obvious source is the internet but again that might now be around to reference to. Another great resource is a book or a friend who can teach you how to master these skills. There may be skills you have that you friend would also like to know about so you can teach each other.

Learn to Ask for Help

Now I don’t expect many people to have to willpower to just stop their way of living and to take on a prepper’s lifestyle. It takes direction and guidance from other preppers to inform people that their way of living is not sustainable. If you have specific questions about what a prepper might do in a specific situation please reach out and ask your questions and I’d be glad to help you on your way. Please stay safe out there and always stay prepared and be aware of your surroundings.
